Today, Planar announced the Planar® DirectLight® Essential Series was named a 2025 Pro AV Best in Market Award winner by Systems Contractor News. The line of fine pixel pitch LED video wall displays was one of 12 solutions selected by a panel of industry experts who recognized the achievements and efforts of companies that are bringing innovative products and solutions to the Pro AV market.
Released in May as the industry leader’s first Chip-on-Board (COB) LED display offering in the Planar® DirectLight® product portfolio, Planar DirectLight Essential Series delivers remarkable image quality, durability and energy efficiency at an accessible price point. The series’ 27-inch cabinets are available in 0.7, 0.9, 1.2 and 1.5 millimeter pixel pitches and present deeper blacks and sharper visuals with a 30,000:1 contrast ratio and high refresh rate of 3,840Hz.
Featuring an LED sorting process that pairs only uniform LEDs together, Planar DirectLight Essential Series customers benefit from superior performance as well as a significant reduction in energy requirements. Planar® DirectLight® Essential Complete™ display configurations are also available, including 109-inch diagonal Full HD, 136-inch diagonal Full HD or 4K and 163-inch diagonal 4K sizes built to reduce the time, cost and complexity of designing and installing video walls.
