The $2.15 billion PDX Next program is the Port of Portland’s transformative initiative to modernize Portland International Airport. The project introduces a reimagined main terminal inspired by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The renovated space includes 72 large trees, more than 5,000 plants and a striking 9-acre mass timber roof made entirely from sustainably sourced Douglas fir.
Display technology from Planar plays an integral role in the redesigned terminal, with twin 128-foot-long by 23-foot-high (78x14) Planar® CarbonLight™ CLI Series LED video walls installed above two security checkpoints. The video walls provide a vast digital canvas for generative art that brings Oregon scenery to life. The upgraded PDX terminal also includes eight 83-foot-wide by 3-foot-high Planar® DirectLight® Pro Series LED video walls that are installed at new airline ticket counters.
