‘Iolani School, in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a culturally diverse K-12 college preparatory school that serves approximately 2,300 students. ‘Iolani recently opened its new Arrillaga Student Center, a three-story, 60,000-square-foot building designed by WCIT Architecture and Gensler that provides a space for learning, wellness and connection.
On the first floor is the Tsai Family Dining Hall, a 12,500-square-foot venue where the school community comes together for meals, social gatherings, student assemblies and other school-related functions. Located overhead in the space are two 16-foot-wide by 12-foot-high Planar® DirectLight® Essential Series LED video walls with 1.5mm pixel pitches. The video walls support day-to-day communications as well as ‘Iolani’s activities and events. They are also integral to the school’s live productions.
