
Today, Planar announced that the new Planar® DirectLight® Essential Series was awarded Best of InfoComm 2025 by rAVe, celebrating the fine pixel pitch LED video wall as a standout product with staying power, smart design and real-world value. Planar DirectLight Essential Series was named Best New LED Platform Expansion in the Displays and Projection category.

Launched in May, the Planar DirectLight Essential Series is a line of fine pixel pitch LED video wall displays that offer high pixel density, energy efficiency and exceptional durability to support an array of high-traffic, high resolution indoor environments with abundant ambient light, including lobbies, conference rooms, retail spaces, hospitality venues, classrooms and regional broadcast studios. Available in 0.7, 0.9, 1.2 and 1.5 millimeter pixel pitches, the Planar DirectLight Essential Series delivers deeper blacks and sharper visuals with a 30,000:1 contrast ratio and high refresh rate of 3,840Hz. The series features an LED sorting process that helps ensure superior performance and a significant reduction in energy requirements, in addition to a best-in-class driver IC that is specially built to mitigate issues related to brightness and color uniformity.
Planar DirectLight Essential Series also offers popular Planar® DirectLight® Essential Complete™ display configurations, including 109-inch diagonal Full HD, 136-inch diagonal Full HD and 163-inch diagonal 4K sizes. The pre-configured LED video walls reduce the time, cost and complexity of designing and installing video walls, equipping customers with everything needed for effective deployment.
Planar received a Best of InfoComm Award in 2024 for the Planar® CarbonLight™ CLI Flex Series in the category of Best New dvLED. This win joins previous Best of InfoComm Award honors from rAVe in 2023 and 2022.
