Custom LED Video Wall Application Supports Immersive Visitor Experience at Amazon’s Understory Exhibit
The Spheres is an addition to Amazon’s downtown Seattle, Wash. headquarters that features three giant intersecting domes housing more than 40,000 plants from over 30 countries, creating a lush workplace environment. To explain the concept behind the Spheres, Amazon created a public visitor center at the Spheres called Understory and assembled an accomplished team to design an exhibit space.
The result was a fully immersive, 360-degree experience using Planar® CarbonLight™ CLA Series video wall displays. The installations include a curved 18-foot-long, 10-foot-high LED video wall surrounded by 11 LED columns, each 3-feet-long and 10-feet high. The experience was created to depict the unique environment of the Spheres including the benefits related to the concept of ‘forest bathing.’ Five modular exhibits with Planar® 32-inch touch screen monitors provide further educational information.
