Project Overview

Clarity Matrix Video Wall Vividly Portrays Ultra High Resolution Telescopic Images Of Activity In Sun’s Outer Atmosphere

In Washington D.C., the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum maintains the world’s largest and most significant collection of aviation and space artifacts, encompassing all aspects of human flight. The museum also incorporates a focus on sharing research about the sun, and in cooperation with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, a Clarity® Matrix LCD Video Wall System in a 2x3 configuration from Planar was installed to show ultra-high resolution telescopic images of the sun’s outermost atmosphere.

The Clarity Matrix is not only capable of meeting the demanding requirements for ultra-high resolution image display but is also useful for depicting the sun’s high energy activities over 48-hour periods, providing the museum with a compelling tool for engaging, exciting and educating visitors.
