The mission of the Lassonde School of Engineering at York University in Toronto, Ontario is to foster the development of ‘renaissance engineers’—entrepreneurial engineers who embrace a social conscience and a sense of global citizenship. To that end, the Lassonde School has implemented world-class tools for learning and engagement and specifically, interactive display technology from Planar for creating a virtual classroom.
Lassonde’s ‘future classroom’ was achieved with the installation of a Clarity® Matrix® MultiTouch LCD Video Wall System. Multiple users can simultaneously interact with the video wall, allowing students to manipulate content or seamlessly toggle between different mediums, such as moving from a whiteboard to a PowerPoint presentation. And, with built-in video conferencing, guest speakers and students alike can join from anywhere in the world.
