Fostering Creative Partnerships at the Intersection of Art and Technology

Portland Design Week is in full-swing with open house events at designers all over the city, many of whom are showing Planar products in their labs and showrooms. We partnered with the Society for Environmental Graphics (SEGD) on their public art exhibit entitled “Revolution in the Landscape: Re-experiecne Halprin’s Fountains" on Tuesday night.

At Keller Fountain, the Mayer/Reed team supplied the crowd with glow sticks to start their journey. Guest reported that it was magical to watch the glowing crowd move through theses great public spaces while experiencing a variety of installations – from kinetic sculpture, to chalk art and projected animations, from music to light and everything in between. At the end of the night all of the designers gathered at Lovejoy along with the remaining guests. Design teams were recognized, the city and Portland Parks were thanked, and Planar was acknowledged as a sponsor. Although we did not have any displays out that event, Planar’s support of the art and design community in Portland was clear.

We’d like to offer our congratulations to the designers at Mayer/Reed, PNCA Animated Arts, PSU GD: Words that Flow, Second Story, Stefan Lesueur, and Sticky for overcoming technical challenges and delivering a great evening of inspiration.

There are still many events going on around the city, through October 11th. For a full listing visit
